At Greek School GBA, we do not just teach. We inspire, empower, and shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Kindergarten
At Greek School GBA, our Pre, Junior, and Senior Kindergarten programs are thoughtfully designed to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can grow and thrive. We offer a curriculum rooted in inquiry and play-based learning, encouraging our youngest learners to explore their surroundings with curiosity, confidence, and joy.

Through hands-on experiences, guided exploration, and integrated units, students are introduced to foundational concepts across subject areas in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways. These early learning experiences help children make connections between what they learn and the world around them, building understanding and encouraging active participation.

Our transdisciplinary approach ensures that learning is purposeful and interconnected. Children are supported in asking questions, thinking critically, and expressing their ideas creatively through a variety of methods. We aim to strike a balance between structure and freedom, allowing each child to feel both secure and inspired as they begin their educational journey.

At Greek School GBA, we value the development of the whole child; intellectually, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to cultivating curious thinkers, kind-hearted individuals, and confident learners with a lifelong love of discovery. From the very beginning, we lay the foundation for a meaningful and joyful learning experience.

Intermediate Division
At Greek School GBA, our Intermediate Program for Grades 7 and 8 offers a rich and engaging academic experience rooted in the Greek language and culture. Using a transdisciplinary approach, we connect subjects such as language, history, geography, and cultural traditions, helping students make meaningful and lasting connections.

During these important years, students build upon their foundational skills by working with more complex vocabulary and grammar. They develop greater fluency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through the study of authentic Greek texts, class discussions, and presentations. Our program also explores the evolution of the Greek language from ancient to modern times, encouraging students to appreciate its historical and global significance.

The curriculum includes an in-depth look at Greek history and geography, from mythology and ancient civilizations to modern-day events and cultural practices. Students gain a deeper understanding of the people, values, and traditions that define the Greek experience.

Through projects, performances, and special events, students explore their cultural identity and heritage. These experiences allow them to celebrate national holidays, regional customs, and traditional dances, reinforcing their pride and connection to the global Greek community.
Our program nurtures confident, informed learners who carry the Greek spirit with them into the future.

Senior Division
At Greek School GBA, our Senior Division provides students with the opportunity to earn secondary school credits through our Ministry-inspected Greek language courses, developed in accordance with the International Languages Ontario Curriculum.

These credit-bearing courses promote a deep appreciation for Greek language and culture while strengthening key skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students engage with meaningful topics such as identity, community, traditions, current issues, and history through relevant and authentic content. Using an inquiry-based and communicative approach, learners are encouraged to express themselves confidently, think critically, and connect personally with the language.

Our curriculum is designed to support different learning styles and follows the four main strands outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Education:
Oral Communication: Understanding and responding to spoken Greek in various contexts.
Reading: Interpreting and analyzing Greek texts.
Writing: Expressing ideas through structured and creative writing.
Intercultural Understanding: Exploring Greek traditions, history, and global influence.

Through academic challenge, personalized support, and cultural engagement, our students not only enhance their language abilities but also earn official credits. By program’s end, they are well-equipped for further education and global citizenship within the Greek-speaking world.

Traditional Dance
At Greek School GBA, we proudly celebrate the rich and vibrant heritage of Greek traditional dance; an art form that brings together movement, music, and poetry while cultivating a strong sense of community, identity, and belonging.

Our dance program provides students with meaningful opportunities to experience the joy, emotion, and fulfillment that come from participating in this expressive cultural tradition. Through dance, students connect with Greek values, traditions, and history, while also developing confidence, teamwork, and a sense of pride as they learn and perform alongside their peers in a supportive and encouraging environment.

As students learn traditional dances from various regions of Greece, they are introduced to the unique rhythms, movements, and stories that define each area. This regional exploration highlights the diversity of Greek folk culture and allows students to better understand how geography, history, and community life have shaped these dances over time. At the same time, students strengthen important physical skills such as coordination, rhythm, balance, and motor control in a fun and engaging way.

At Greek School GBA, traditional dance is more than performance. It is a living connection to Greek history, storytelling, and shared experience. It brings generations together, fosters cultural continuity, and reinforces the importance of community and expression.
Join us as we keep this cherished tradition alive, one step at a time.
